Give Back to the Baker: Let's Help James!

It was August of 2023 we got the news that our baker, James Brewer, had been diagnosed with cancer. Many of you know what happened next: as James stepped away to begin a course of chemo and radiation, Frosty's nation rallied to support him. We (you) raised over $7,000 here on our GoFundMe page. Customers "added a donut" (or a half dozen or dozen) to their orders, and the equivalent value was added to the fund. Random checks were dropped off. Creators delivered items to sell and donated all the proceeds.

In the end, around $10,000 was raised for James!!

But the best part of the story is this: early detection is key, and by Christmas, James's doctor at New England Cancer Specialists said those five words that are sweeter than sugar or glaze: "Looks like we got it."

By New Year's, James was raring to go... and actually convinced us to open for 2024 in February instead of March so that he could get back to doing what he loves. He's been at it ever since.
