Frozen Love: A Buckingham Nicks Story to Edinburgh Fringe

From our writers and performers Georgie Banks and Jake Byrom: “We came up with the idea for Frozen Love about two and a half years ago, while I was telling Jake about the story of Fleetwood Mac. I have been a huge fan of their music for as long as I can remember and through discussing the band and doing some more research we quickly discovered the Buckingham Nicks album. Jake has written his own shows prior to this one and as we delved into finding out more about Stevie and Lindsey before they were ‘famous’ the piece began to write itself, with the songs from the Buckingham Nicks album slotting in perfectly to the tell the story. It is my first venture as a writer as has become a huge passion project for us both. We want to put the show on in 2025 as it also marks the 50th Anniversary of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joining Fleetwood Mac, which all seemed just perfect timing.
We then joined forces with Tilly Penn, our director, (assisted by Gray Enever), whose excitement and passion for the project has lifted it to places we could have only dreamed of. Likewise with the support and experience of our producer Rachel Duncan from ERA Theatrical Productions. We truly feel this is best team to bring the show to the fringe."
Frozen Love: A Buckingham Nicks Story, is the true story of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s rocky road to joining Fleetwood Mac. We intertwine songs from their debut album as a duo ‘Buckingham Nicks’ and also show how some of the world’s favourite Fleetwood Mac songs came about. Their relationship during their time with Fleetwood Mac is infamous, but before all of that…at the heart of it they were madly in love and would sacrifice all they could for the music.
We will use the money raised to secure our dream venue at Edinburgh Fringe, supplement our living costs while the team are there, we will also put the funds towards our set, costumes, hair and everything we need to bring this show to life.
