Fruit bat pup, soon to be tripod- needs your help!

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to read, we are trying to raise funds for this sweet fruit bat looking lady who was most likely dumped on 195 in the wareham area. A nurse at my work, found her and brought her in as a stray to check for a chip and get an exam. She was not microchipped and thankfully mostly stable, despite a completely non weight bearing hind leg. It seemed like an old injury, so we knew she was comfortable and gave her a cozy bed of blankets, some food and water while we figured out a plan! This is where I was led to the miracle worker, David Frates, the animal control officer of Lakeville. He also runs the shelter and has a reputation of such high regards, I knew he was the best person for her to stay with until she could get a proper exam. He offered to take her in that day and would bring her to his vet on Monday as soon as he could! I had the pleasure of transporting this sweet little fruit bat looking lady to the shelter where the thought in the back of my head about possibly adopting her if no one came forward, completely flourished. Seeing her with her head out the window enjoying the breeze and being a great copilot trying to give me kisses as we drove.

Flash forward to today, well, the news was worse than expected, little lady needs the leg amputated I thought of creating this gofundme to help aid in her care, procedure, and rehab as David as offered to do whatever is needed to help her survive and thrive she’s such a special girl and I am so grateful she ended up with such a kind and caring human for dogs that normally may have been trashed (again)!
