Support the Burek Family

Hello everyone my name is Magda. I’m setting up this fundraiser on behalf of the Burek Family. Natalia is an amazing mom to two happy boys, Antek and Olek. She is the owner and designer of Natalia Eva Floral. She has a huge passion for designing wedding flowers and her business is blooming, she has absolutely poured her heart and soul into it. With her husband Matt they have begun to build a wonderful life together. After the birth of her second beautiful son she noticed a lump in her breast that just wouldn’t go away, but it was thought to be a clogged milk duct. Natalia continued to advocate for her health, pushing for ultrasounds and ultimately a biopsy. On February 28 she got the call that it was breast cancer. On May 2 she underwent a double mastectomy, in addition, the surgeon removed 3 lymph nodes to send off to pathology. We all prayed that pathology results would be clear, but that was not the case and her treatment course quickly changed. The cancer is an invasive lobular carcinoma stage 3 with lymph node involvement, she will need chemotherapy, radiation and hormone therapy. In Natalia style before her first treatment she shaved all her hair, and she truly looks beautiful! She wanted it to be a happy experience. She underwent the first round of AC chemo on June 2 and is holding up well. Most importantly, she is taking time to rest (although being true to herself, she did come over right after treatment and door-dashed her first ever Taco Bell!!) She has 3 more rounds of AC chemo coming up, then will have 12 rounds of Taxol chemo. Once all the chemotherapy has been completed she will have daily radiation treatment for 5 weeks. During all the treatments Natalia is also getting hormone therapy due to the nature of the cancer. Pending the completion of all active treatment, her wonderful team of doctors will be discussing further surgeries and procedures Natalia will need as she will go into medically induced menopause. Through this all, Natalia is still running her floral business and is being an AMAZING mom to her two boys. She smiles as much as she can, maintains a good sense of humor, and will continue to ask others if she can be the one to help with anything! Natalia has an amazing support system. Her husband Matt has been there every step of the way, doing whatever is needed. He is truly a wonderful father and loving husband. Between all of the appointments, he is working very hard to support their family taking on extra shifts and side work to keep the medical bills under control. I know Matt takes a lot of pride in supporting his family and I’m happy he is accepting help from family and friends to help lessen the stress on their family. They have countless friends and family members are here and available with anything they may need. The reality is that Natalia has a long road of ahead, and she is handling it with style and grace. All the test, treatments and surgeries are not fully covered by insurance. Donations will help cover medical bills, daycare costs for Antek and Olek and any unexpected expenses that may come their way.
