Help us save our only home

Dearest friends,

We have spent a lot of time exploring various options, yet after careful consideration, we have come to realize that this is our last and only hope. This is why we decided to write to you with all the hopes inside of us, in the wish to live, laugh and be happy again.

We have been living on the hills of Kavre, Nepal, for 1000 years. This is the only place my family and ancestors have known. Here we farm, and share our experiences with others from abroad. We have been happily living on this hill for generations, but the 2015 earthquake destroyed everything and forced us to live and work on someone else’s property. Now something horrible happened. Our owner wants his house back, as we are unable to pay for the installment of the property in time. Last year we worked very hard and paid him an equivalent of $15000, however the same has to be paid this year. Yet, we are unable to, due to a very big tragedy. We hospitalized our grandfather for a month, in the hope of saving him. Unfortunately, he passed and the medical and funeral expenses caused high bills. Furthermore, we had to pay for the delivery of my son. These conditions have made it impossible for us to gather the $15000 in time. Now, our owner gave us one month to leave his house and property; our home.

This has come as a devastation to us. After generations of living here, rebuilding our home, and sharing it with others; we are left with nothing. As you know, we have been sharing our lives with many of you through ‘Workaway’. It took us time to collect our courage from the heart to write this message, but you are our last hope. We want to keep this house secure so that we can keep hosting wonderful people like you guys!
