Fudge Family Kidney Fund

In August 2017 we found out that my husbands kidneys were failing, right after he loss his older sister in June 2017. This was the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. By the time that 2018 rolled around he was in stage 5 of chronic kidney disease and being put on the kidney transplant list. And by that time he already had 3 eye surgeries and well over 15 plus eye laser treatments to repair the damage from what his diabetes had done. Then by October of 2018 we found out that he had heart problems, which lead to another surgery, to remove a blockage and have a stent placed. In 2019 he had, yet another surgery for a tube placement so he can start peritoneal dialysis. We've been to so many appointments and have done so much training in order to do his dialysis at home 7 days a week. Now it is 2020 and this have to have been the roughest year because with all that my husband Chris has been through he started having seizures, which was new, multiple trips to the hospital and then came along Covid-19 to add another problem. He caught it from me when I was working 12 hour midnights at a nursing home, I still feel so guilty that he had to go through that, we almost lost him few times this year. The reason why we are telling our story is to get the needed help to pay for medical expenses that our insurance wont pay for and because we won't be able to work for at least a month or two. We still need to be able to provide for our kids, buy food, medications, pay our bills and rent ….We have been together for 21 years, he is my soulmate, bestfriend and husband of almost 17 years, he is a great father to our 3 beautiful children; 2 boys and one girl. We couldn't imagine our lives without him there's so much for us to do and see. I know this is fate that we been together for so long and both have so much in common. It is destiny that brought us together and the fact that the my blood type is O negative and my husband is O positive, proves it even more because only O can donate to O. This only brings are bond closer. I been with him every step of the way and will continue to go even farther, I wouldn't be able to live with any regrets of not trying or giving my all in every way possible to help save my bestfriend and the love of my life. We are young, we can get through this, we have each and our kids. Our children gives us the strength, so we can go even further in live. . And we wouldn't have it any other way. So 5 weeks ago I started doing Weight Watchers again after I stopped last year. I am down also 40+lbs and my motivation is much better and stronger than ever before and I realize that I am way stronger than what I was giving myself. 1 of my goals was to be tested to see if I was a possible match for my husband to receive a kidney, I was scared to find out for so long and the only way to find out was to loose weight. Now that I am back on track, I was able to take the test to find out and now that I can, being able to give him a kidney only feels right and means so much to me. Now it August of 2020 and his doctors are trying to have the transplant done before October of this year if at all possible. I want to thank his Transplant Coordination Team, all of the staff at DaVita GP and my Living Donor Transplant Coordinator for all of there help. My husband Chris great person, he doing it tough and your support means a lot! We’ve had an amazing outpouring of support from our friends and family. If people feelin your hearts and would like to help us, you can give us a small donation to help us cover our copays and at the time we’ll both be out of work. Please don’t feel like this is the only way to help. Feel free to reach out to us, to let us know you’re thinking about us. Thanks so much for considering donating to this campaign. We are extremely lucky and blessed to have our kids and each other. With Great Thanks, Natisha and Chris Fudge
