Fuel Ashlie's Trip to the National Convention

Hi! My name is Ashlie Castaldo, and I'm trying to raise the funds for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to travel to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago from August 18th to 23rd, 2024. I am honored to represent the DFL party as a Biden/Harris Delegate and do my part to nominate Joseph Biden for President. Representation matters. As a Hispanic, LGBTQIA+, and Autistic woman, I hope to see as many paths of life represented on the national stage for Minnesota. I hope to advocate for the many voices ignored on the national stage and show a party that is “Big Tent”. I grew up facing adversity and trauma, to become an active member of my community, a mental health advocate, and a respected marketer. During my time in further education, I juggled a full-time career while giving birth and raising an infant, and facing reproductive discrimination. I currently serve the city of Duluth in various capacities, and my political party involvement includes a tenure as the Outreach and inclusion Officer for the Environmental Caucus and now a seat on the State Central Committee.
During the pivotal 2020 election, I worked for both the Ossoff and Warnock campaigns. As a phone banker and social media manager for grassroots orgs, I did my part to get voters educated, and to help keep democracy intact. Being able to work in a bipartisan manner and fully utilize a legislative majority is Biden’s biggest success. Currently, I am the Asst. Campaign Manager for Mark Munger in 3B. I can speak to both rural and metro concerns. In St. Paul, I was able to connect authentically with Iron Rangers while also addressing problem areas with our down state representatives. I like to lead by example, and I give space to concerns and real emotion, so that progress is a reality and not just a word. My leadership style reflects leading with kindness, and as a Capitol Connector, I have advocated on behalf of mental health expansion and legislation designed to strengthen relationships and reform policy affecting disabled individuals in the justice system with key legislative offices in our state. I hope to count on your financial support as I move forward on my journey to the national convention!
