Fuel Feed-Well Fridges' Van Drive

Feed-Well Fridges is a community fridge nonprofit in Chatham County, N.C., that works to reduce food insecurity and commercial food waste. We currently rescue edible food from grocery stores, restaurants, caterers and other businesses and redirect this food to our 4 fridges, which are placed in 24/7 accessible spaces for people in need.
Launched in August 2023 by Chatham County Chef Sera Cuni, Feed-Well Fridges depends heavily on a team of volunteers who help us deliver food to our community fridges daily. In less than a year, we have stocked our fridges with more than 10 tons of edible food. We have also used rescued veggies, pastas, proteins etc. to cook and package more than 18,000 individually packaged meals for our fridges. These meals help to feed senior adults who don't have the ability to cook a nutritious meal and families with limited time and resources.
Because of the amount of food we rescue, we desperately need a refrigerated van to assist in our efforts. A van would also enable us to partner with additional grocery stores, restaurants and other commercial food businesses to help expand our fridge program across other counties in North Carolina. Ultimately, we aim to expand Feed-Well Fridges into every county of our state.
