Fuel Kamden's Passion for Music Education

Hello,

My name is Kamden Kincaid. I play the clarinet and the tuba. Music has been a part of my life since the Third grade, and it has not left my heart to this day. I love music and performing more than anything in the world (aside from my wonderful girlfriend). In high school, I had my first marching band experience. It was electrifying, and sparked an intense passion for the marching arts. I marched in high school for four years, then went on to march in college with the Sac State Marching Band, finding new friends and opportunities as I went. Most critically, job opportunities in music education. I intend on being a high school band director when I graduate, to continue passing on the gift of music to the next generation. I took up a job teaching elementary school music, as well as seasonal jobs teaching high school marching band as a field and wind tech. Music is my life, and music education is my life's work. This brings us to the opportunity I have been presented with. Through years of dedicated playing and physical conditioning, I have earned a contract with Pacific Crest, a World Class Drum Corps (Marching band) that tours across the United States performing in dozens of shows from coast to coast. Not only is this the performance opportunity of a lifetime, it is a wealth of educational resources that I will stop at nothing to take in. The cost of such an opportunity is steep. That is why I am asking for your support to help me make this dream a reality. I work 5 part time jobs on top of a full college workload to do everything in my power to afford the life changing experience that I have worked so hard for. The performer cost for a group of this caliber is approximately 6500 dollars. This fee pays for uniforms, instruments, food, transportation, housing, educators, admin, and so much more. I have managed to pay most of it through diligent work throughout the school year. This means I only have 2000 standing between me and a once in a lifetime experience. Help me march the 2024 Drum Corps Season!
