Fuel Oliver's Film Education Journey

My name is Oliver Schaffer and I'm currently pursuing the amazing opportunity to partake in the Gotham EDU Film and Media Career Development program. The Gotham Film & Media Institute is a not-for-profit dedicated to finding, developing, and celebrating the people and projects that shape the future of story.
I am a non-binary disabled filmmaker currently working part-time at an LAUSD elementary school. I believe that media is one of the most powerful mediums that connect people from all walks of life to inspire them to take action. Themes such as gender, disability, queer relationships, and coming of age often make an appearance in my work.
I am a recent graduate of Emerson College, graduating with a 3.9 GPA and a BFA in visual media arts. This program presents an invaluable chance for me to grow my education and gain insights, skills, and connections that will help shape my future career path.
While at this program I will be developing the story of an autistic college student who starts the disability union at her school, inspired by the real events of the founding of Access at Emerson College
Your support will directly contribute to covering the costs associated with participating in this program. From tuition fees to necessary resources, your generosity will enable me to fully engage in the 8-week virtual program. Specifically, the funds will be allocated towards program fees, equipment/software needs, and any additional expenses related to project development and participation in Gotham Week 2024.
Thank you for considering supporting my journey. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in helping me pursue my dreams. If you would like to learn more about me you can visit: https://www.olivergraceschaffer.com/
