Hike for Hope: Walking 260 Miles with my dog Bonnie to Fight Cancer

My name is Russ, and I'm lacing up alongside my furry canine companion, Bonnie, to embark on a 260-mile trek from Charlotte, NC to New Bern, NC. We left on April 22, 2024 and expect it to take 3 or 4 weeks. This journey isn't just about the miles; it's about raising critical funds for cancer research in memory of a dear family member we recently lost to this devastating disease.

Why We Hike:

A Personal Mission: The pain of losing a loved one fuels our determination to make a difference. Every step we take honors their memory and brings us closer to a future free of cancer.

Empowering You: All proceeds will benefit the CarolinaEast Foundation in New Bern. This is a fully funded organization, so 100% of what we donate goes towards the cause, not overhead.

Roughing it for Research: To maximize our fundraising impact, Bonnie and I will be living off the land as much as possible, carrying everything on our backs and camping along the way, where feasible.
