Fuel the Future of Storytelling with HANSeL-GReTeL

To our beloved friends and family,

We are thrilled to share with you our project shaping the future of art and entertainment, HANSeL/GReTeL—a unique combination show and party that re-imagines classic fairy tales through a modern lens. This immersive experience blends dance music, spoken word narration, scenic design, and live performances to draw audiences into the heart of each story. Beginning with the timeless folktale of "Hansel and Gretel," we've spent three years conducting intensive research and creative development to present this and other beloved stories in a way that resonates with contemporary themes and emotions.

Over the coming years, we will delve into iconic stories like "Cinderella," "Little Red Riding Hood," "The Little Mermaid," and more. Our mission is to offer audiences a transformative journey that not only entertains, but also invites them to reflect on these narratives that have shaped our collective consciousness. By presenting stories through a fun, innovative approach, we aim to “remix” and update versions that no longer serve us, and open up conversations around complex themes like trauma, grief, love, family, autonomy, and redemption.

This project is deeply important to us because we believe in the power of storytelling to heal and inspire. Folktales are embedded in our psyches, often carrying forward outdated or limiting messages. Yet for thousands of years, they have stayed relevant because storytellers like ourselves imagined new ways to tell them. Click here to listen to a sample of what our approach sounds like!

Our first three events attracted crowds of 100+ diverse revelers to bars and clubs across New York City, demonstrating the concept’s success and potential. Each event sells more tickets than the last! (You can see photos and videos from these events on our Instagram page.) Yet while we know the concept is profitable—and intend to ultimately tour it to other cities around the world—we have already dedicated countless unpaid hours and thousands of dollars of our own resources to bring HANSeL/GReTeL to life.

In order to continue this journey and justly compensate the many talented artists we collaborate with, we need your support as a form of “seed funding.” Your contributions will make this project sustainable well into the future by helping us make capital investments, support our own stability as artists, and pay the incredible performers, DJs, dancers, visual artists, and designers who make this project as vast and beautiful as it is.
