Fuel Val's Pursuit of the Fittest on Earth Title

8/21 Update: thank you to everyone who has donated so far! I couldn’t do this without you. I’ve received some donations via Venmo (@Valerie-Cohen-1) and Zelle to add to the total on here. However, I’m still fairly short of my goal. I’ve been spending so much time training and working two jobs that I haven’t spent enough time fundraising! Hi Everyone,

I recently qualified for my fourth CrossFit Games! I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to compete against the best in the world in pursuit of my fourth title of “Fittest on Earth” in the lower extremity adaptive category.

While the adaptive CrossFit community continues to grow, it hasn’t become any easier financially to compete with the best. Because adaptive CrossFit is so new, there are no sponsorships for athletes and little to no prize money at competitions. I work two hourly jobs to support myself and my training full time. The games have moved to Texas this year, so the longer trip makes travel expenses and lost work hours total around $6500.

No one wins the CrossFit games alone; I’m so thankful for the outpouring of support I’ve received over the years I’ve been competing. I appreciate it more than you know.

This year is no different— I hope I can make you all proud!!
