Fuentes Good Fight
For those who do not know I’m Marissa’s best friend, family, Aj’s side lady (long standing joke) Elli and Enzo’s Auntie Randa. I’m from Limerick, we met in school in the 8th grade. These funds will be used for any financial assistance including housing, bills, and medical for both Marissa and Enzo (Gofundme asked me to put this information).
We’re starting this gofundme to remove a little bit of weight from AJ during this time. We want him to keep his focus on his family without worry. A little bit of financial help will go a long way to assist with the up keep of life’s essentials. We are all rooting for the Fuentes family and are extremely grateful for any and all contributions. If it is not in your ability to assist financially please pray or send positive energy to them and the family as it is needed during this time.
As some of you know Marissa ended up in the hospital on April 19, she was diagnosed with COVID and placed in the ICU. Marissa was 32 weeks pregnant with Enzo, the Doctors thought Enzo was putting too much pressure on her lungs and decided to do an Emergency Csection. Little Enzo Vincent was born April 21st and was taken to the NICU where he has remained since.
Back to Marissa, on Thursday the 29th things took a turn for Marissa, she had to be sedated and put on a ventilator. The decision was then made to air lift her to Lankenua. Marissa is in an induced sleep and receiving a bunch of extra interventions to give her the best chance against COVID. It was discovered this morning that it is in fact COVID and a bacterial infection in her lungs. This is great news as now they can treat the bacteria appropriately. She has a very long and tough battle ahead of her but she has the biggest support system behind her. Marissa is so strong and fighting so hard to get back to being the most amazing wife and even more amazing Mother that she is.
Enzo has been making amazing progress in the NICU, he gets his toughness from his Mama and we are all so incredibly proud of him. Enzo has been making strides in the NICU, he is no longer requiring oxygen, he’s regulating his body temperature and also taking pacifiers well! Enzo was extremely lucky that Marissa was able to pump for the first week of his life and give him all the amazing nutrients. How amazing that she’s fighting her own fight and still providing for our little bean?! When I say she’s strong and one of the toughest people I know, I mean it! Enzo still has a long road ahead of him and will be receiving further treatment through CHOP once he is out of the NICU. AJ will be making these trips with him so he can receive further care.
AJ has still been working and caring for Elli. Elli was able to go back to school this past week. We are so extremely proud of AJ and how strong he’s been remaining. He’s doing an amazing job keeping family informed at all times of the day. We want AJ to be able to comfortably take time to himself and to his family. He will be able to finally meet Enzo this Tuesday and visits are going to be frequent. We just hope this removes a little bit of weight from AJ, as this is the least we can do. Again we appreciate any and all contributions and prayers. ♥️
