Fulfill Judi’s wishes for her and Ny

Judi Booty, JUDZ, Judi Blue Eyes, Carmen. We NEVER in a million years thought we’d be here as quickly as we are, but sadly here we are.

While we are all hurt and taken back, we know you are no longer in pain and suffering. That is what we need to keep reminding ourselves. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but it’s the truth.

As many of you may or may not know, Judi was diagnosed with the most aggressive type of breast cancer last May. This stemmed shortly after giving birth to her beautiful daughter Ra’Nyla. Her worst fears became a reality when she was told she had Triple Negative Breast Cancer. At first Judi’s prognosis was promising, but after surgery and removal of her tumors things declined. Just weeks after her mastectomy she developed severe pain in her shoulders and neck. This is when she was told due to all the chemotherapy, she suffered a fractured vertebrae. The surgeons told her they needed to stabilize her fracture or she could become paralyzed. Judi underwent a 9 hour surgery where they strategically placed a metal cage to stabilize the fracture. We finally had hope. But that was soon taken from us…
Just 3 weeks after this surgery Judi experienced numbness in her legs which lead her to being completely paralyzed from the waist down. Now previous to this surgery, Judi had completed 16 rounds of chemotherapy like a champ. We couldn’t believe how well she tolerated this nuclear medicine, but she did… without a single complaint. Fast forward to about March of this year. Judi and her family received the worst news possible. The cancer was back and had spread to spine, bones, and lungs. Despite the devastating news Judi still insisted she’d fight. Throughout her whole journey she would always say “I’m fighting for my daughter Ra’Nyla. I can’t let this win” She has said many times before that she believes her daughter Ra’Nyla saved her life.

Unfortunately things progressed so quickly, Judi had to put her affairs in order and plan her own death. Something a 28 year old should never have to do. She said she wanted a Celebration of Life with her close friends and Family. She gave strict orders on what she wanted. Pink and purple, no black. Smiles, no frowns. A playlist of songs that must be played. Some of which to be honest we question. But as her family we will honor her wishes. Even if we don’t necessarily agree with the playlist lol. Judi’s biggest concern while awaiting her entrance to Heaven was her daughter. She kept saying “Please, please take care of Ny. Don’t let her forget me. Please keep my memory alive and make sure she’s well cared for.” This is exactly what we as her family and village of friends will do.

To all her family and friends, we ask you to please keep Judi’s memory alive. Live like tomorrow is not promised. Hold on to the ones who love you, and live with no regrets. That’s how Judi would of wanted it. If you find time, please check out her blog which she wrote on periodically throughout her journey. http://www.lifeofjuju.com And when you hear Drakes song “Just hold on we’re going home” think of Judi because that’s the last song she smiled to.

We are asking if you can find it in your hearts to contribute to Judi and RaNyla. Our family understands the struggle of finances and how difficult it may be for some. If you can’t contribute, we ask that you please share this as much as possible. Not only so Judi’s story is heard, but to also spread awareness of TNBC.

WE THANK YOU FOR LOVING ON BOTH JUJU AND NY!
