Help us fulfill Lupe Ornelas final resting wishes

No one was ready for the unexpected loss of a father of eight beautiful children.

My name is Jordan Griffiths ,son in law of Lupe Ornelas. I have had the privilege of becoming a part of the Ornelas family over the last 9 years . I have gotten to know my father in law personally over that time. Our conversations turned one sided as the stories he told quickly became fables . I would sit quietly on the edge of my chair hanging on to his every word. He would tell the stories of the challenges and triumphs as a young boy growing up in Mexico and the brave journey he would set off on alone, at only 15, to come to the states and work hard for his mother, father and later his future family of 10. Lupe was loyal and committed to his career as the head chef at Harriet’s restaurant for just shy of thirty years. If you had a chance to visit the restaurant in that time , more than likely you got to see Lupe’s friendly face sending out orders from behind the kitchen window. He was not a perfect man but despite the challenges he never failed to contribute in the way he knew how . Through hard work and dedication he was able to provide his children with a education and a future that he once dreamt of for himself . Lupes ultimate dream was to retire in Mexico alongside his mother and father. Surrounded by his family friends and grandchildren all enjoying the hard earned fruits of his labor. His last wish was to be transported home to his childhood town of Nangue and laid to rest beside his father and brother. Giving his mother the chance to mourn the loss of her little boy. Our goal is to fulfill his dream and send him home so he may rest peacefully in the lands of his youth; surrounded by his family and boundless love. .Thank you so much for all your contributions, our family is eternally grateful.
