Fulfilling my Nursing Dream

As some of you may know, I am attending Galen College of Nursing in Louisville, KY. I have ten months left in the LPN to RN bridge program. I am so excited to further my education by doing something I love and to show my children that hard work always pays off. However, my financial situation is not where I’d hoped it would be when I got this opportunity. Between bills and everything else life throws at me, this is not something I can afford on my own. Unfortunately, I have no further assistance for financial help besides my Federal Pell Grant and two subsidized and unsubsidized loans I took out. This current quarter I owe the school over $2,000. I can not register for classes next quarter as a hold was placed on my account until it's paid. I am not asking for handouts; I am just hoping some of you may feel led to help contribute towards the amount owed to complete this journey. I appreciate everyone who has supported me as I navigate school and work. I would appreciate it so much if you felt called to help me continue down this road.

I am looking forward to being able to complete this journey and finally have RN behind my name.

At a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be a Nurse. It was always a joy for me as a little girl to help others, especially in the elderly community. I would happily offer to assist anyone I saw needed help, no matter the task. I currently work as a Licensed Practical Home Health Nurse, and it is an absolutely heart-warming experience to see my patients smile in comfort after giving them care.

With my passion for caregiving and a higher education, I can do so much more in the healthcare community.
