Funds needed for a full time caregiver for Bonnie
Donation protected
Hi,
This is my sister Bonnie Billard/Dietrich daughter of Bob and Kathy Dietrich. She was diagnosed with a fast acting leukemia in May of 2023. Since then she has had 3 chemo treatments requiring her to stay in hospital at the Peter Lougheed each time. The Drs determined that because of the type of leukemia she had with 3 different mutations that her best chance of surviving was with a stem cell transplant.
We were blessed that my brother was a match and donated his stem cells (picture was her transplant day!).
In the next couple of weeks she will be discharged but has to be in Calgary or within an hour in case of any complications that could arise. She requires a 24/7 live in caregiver to care for her as she is very weak and needs someone to take her to all of her appts etc. and watch for any signs of complications. So far we have found one lady who is a LPN who seems amazing but the cost is more than we anticipated. We are still looking to see if we can find other caregivers as we do not require a LPN but this has been the only one who is able to do it. The family can go on weekends to reduce the cost but it is still significant and more than we can afford.
We are asking for your financial help to support her recovery to pay for the caregiver. Almost all of the funds will go to paying the caregiver and if any are left over it can go to any other costs Bonnie will have during her approx 2 month stay in Calgary after she gets out of the hospital.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any amount would be helpful or if you can share this page that would be greatly appreciated.
