I lost my whole family to gun violence
Donation protected
The night before Easter, my sister and I left to pick up her daughter from the Jones High School Prom in Orlando, Florida. My name is Darnita Fulmore, I am the mother of Damionna Reed. My sister, Nikkia Fulmore’s daughter Shaniya was the one at the Jones High School prom that night.
When we returned home, I found out that my former partner had murdered our mom, Carole Fulmore, and my daughter Damionna. He also killed his 7-year-old son. We are devasted, there was no warning, no domestic violence, I’m struggling as I write this to make sense of it all. Our big brother Maurice Bryant has been so strong in this process, but we all need your prayers. We were supposed to attend church with my mom on easter morning.
If I am honest with you, he was a good man, a good partner who worked hard, that’s what makes this all so overwhelming and confusing. We didn’t keep guns in the house, we talked about mental health so for my family to be a victim of gun violence is so unreal. This feels like a bad dream that I hoping to wake up from.
It’s been three days and I am struggling with the fact that I will soon have to bury my mom and my 13-year-old daughter. We also have to find a new place to live. If you can help us through this process, that would be greatly appreciated. If you want to send cards, flowers or other expressions of sympathy please send them to the funeral home. Anything you can give, even if it's only a few moments of your time to share would be helpful. We are having a candlelight Vigil soon; we will post the updates here.
