Fulphil Social Entrepreneurship Education

I founded Fulphil with the hope of empowering youth to identify pressing issues in their local communities and create innovative business solutions that solve them. This is the concept of social entrepreneurship.
Over the past few months I've led a variety of workshops teaching social entrepreneurship and design thinking across 5+ different high school campuses across Philadelphia. In these workshops, students are asked to identify an issue near and dear to them in their communities and challenged to create innovative and impactful business solutions that can generate revenue. From these workshops, I surveyed 150+ students and have found that 78% of students are motivated to start a purpose-driven project, but over 62% report lacking the necessary resources and guidance from their schools.
Social entrepreneurship can be one of the most powerful skillsets learned to empower others to see the world not as how it is, but as how it could be. By its very nature, social entrepreneurship empowers and activates problem-solvers to address pressing societal challenges and effect meaningful change.
Teaching social entrepreneurship to youth can be an incredibly powerful tool to inspire them to challenge the status quo, question conventional norms, and harness their creativity and resources to devise solutions that have the potential to reshape the future, while also igniting a spark of possibility in others. In my experience working with students so far, I've found that the disparity in accessing needed resources seemed to be greater for students/schools from lower socioeconomic status communities—and in theory, they are the ones who might benefit most from learning social entrepreneurship.
I'm currently pursuing my M.S. at the University of Pennsylvania studying Nonprofit Leadership for the purpose of acquiring the necessary skillsets and knowledge to help me scale the impact of Fulphil—to accessibly and inclusively empower every student to make a positive difference in their communities, and seek out purpose in their future careers.
My goal for this fundraiser is to raise initial philanthropic capital to help me build the foundations of creating a more self-sustaining nonprofit model.
Thank you so much for your considered support. If you would like to learn more about Fulphil, please feel free to visit our website at www.fulphil.org or email me at [email redacted].
