Fund A Diverse Holistic Healer for MSW at YU
Hi, my name is Tanya Rothstein (pictured here with my youngest son, Rabbi Isaiah Rothstein, MSW). I am raising funds for a Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Yeshiva University beginning August 30th. My fundraising goal is $6750 for the first semester tuition, for which donations of $1339 have been made. After the first semester, I am eligible for certain scholarships. My acceptance in and future graduation from this program have the potential to increase my family's income and restore our financial viability. This initiative is my most important for this purpose!
My natural empathy and compassion reflect my experiences growing up bi-racial in the diverse, predominantly Jewish, University of Chicago community of Hyde Park. My personal background includes African American, Jewish, Daughters of the American Revolution, Native American, elder, and female. My professional background includes attending graduate school of education, teaching in the public schools ,and serving as a corporate Human Resources Manager for over a decade. As a Holistic Healer, I have achieved certification in several modalities.
Many of my clients are holocaust survivors or their children and people of African descent navigating current and historical trauma; and clients navigating inter-generational family-system traumas, PTSD, marital discord, and parenting issues. One of my clients in a book attributed her long-term recovery from cancer in part to my work with her. My clients keep telling me, "No one has been able to do for me what you have."
Another client, a long-time MSW, said of my work: "[Tanya] has always been an intuitive person, able to connect emotionally with others and is an active listener. Tanya has an 'electric' personality and attracts others to her in a positive way.... She has completed advanced certifications in Transformational Breath and Yoga and has treated a wide variety of clients. I have personally participated as her client in both those modalities. She is an effective clinician and an intuitive, empathic therapist. She is a caring person who is accepting of others, no matter their differences. She always sees the good in others and emphasizes their strengths. She has worked with clients who presented with PTSD and anxiety."
You will have my gratitude for the fulfillment of my dreams and aspirations of empowering people and healing a fractured world. More important, my clients will be grateful to you, kind and generous sponsors of my MSW Program. You will become an agent in creating transformation and miraculous breakthroughs in their lives and communities!
YU has the latest technologies and therapies for individual healing, collective transformation, and social justice. YU will further empower me to serve as a patriotic global citizen bringing to the world healing, innovative solution-seeking, and group conflict resolution.
