Documentary about the first Black Filmmaker

Hello, I am Ericka Abram. I'm seeking financial support to fund "A Soldier in the Shadow," a documentary about the remarkable life's work of America's first Black filmmaker.
Emmett J. Scott was born to formerly enslaved parents in Texas. He became the first Black filmmaker in America, the right hand of Booker T. Washington, the Secretary of War for Negro Soldiers in WWI, and Treasurer at Howard University. The author of several books, including The Negro Soldier in the World War and The Harlem Hellfighters, his book Negro Migration During the War inspired the titles of works from artist Jacob Lawrence. His contributions to Black life in America reflect his commitment to education and liberation.
I appreciate the books about Scott's dedicated work and believe this documentary will be an entertaining and educational tribute to a man who spent a lifetime in service to HBCUs. A member of Alpha Phi Alpha, and Boule Archon, Scott was active in service organizations working to improve Black people's conditions. He was the guest of honor when Madam C.J. Walker opened her estate in New York, where her invitation noted 'of matters import to the Negro Race.'
