Fund a film with N. Virginia Motion Picture Co-Op
Donation protected
The Northern Virginia Motion Picture Co-Op is a regional association of filmmakers. We bring together producers, writers, directors, actors, cinematographers, editors, and many other artists and specialists. Our goal is to create original films that are fun, intriguing, and entertaining. We come together to promote our art and each other in an expanding network dedicated to fostering the potential of our community.
Though the Co-Op has been dormant since the pandemic of 2020, we are ready to come back to life with an evocative new production for 2023: "Season Cycle". In this 10 minute short, the spirit of the forest comes alive and takes her revenge on those who would trespass in her domain. We will see her in all four seasons, as she takes on many forms – some beautiful, and some monstrous. But to deliver this vision, we will need your help.
For Seasons Cycle we’ve already begun assembling a team of talented costume, makeup, and prop artists. But materials cost money, and so do equipment rentals, power, locations, and food for the cast and crew. This is an ambitious short which will have multiple shoot days spread out over the rest of the year, and will require funds to sustain the effort.
The good news is that we’re used to getting the most out of small shooting budgets. Our fundraising goals are modest – Eight Thousand Dollars should see us through. Truly, any amount will be a big help, but if you can throw in twenty, forty, or even a hundred dollars we should get to our goal relatively quickly. Everyone who donates will get a mention in the film’s credits, and anyone who donates five hundred dollars or more will get a special Executive Producer credit. All donations from the campaign will go towards production costs and support local artists and merchants. If we are lucky enough to exceed our fundraising goal we may even have enough to begin pre-production on a second film for the co-op, which will help us to fulfill our mission into next year as well.
You can look for updates on Seasons Cycle and other Co-Op activities on our Facebook page and on our YouTube channel , where you can see some of the other productions we’ve worked on in previous years. And of course, during the fundraising campaign, we’ll post updates here as well with more information on how to follow up with us and get involved in filmmaking here in the region.
Thank you for your support!
