Fund a Submarine Horror Short Film
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jack Clark I am a film student at Bournemouth University taught out at Wiltshire College University Centre, Salisbury.
I am trying to raise the funds to create a Horror Short Film set during 1958 and 1988.
The short film would be partially set inside a Hunter-Killer submarine.
The film would be for non-profit purposes and would be the showcase for my University.
We will have the equipment paid for by our University, but the locations, actors, costumes, and props are what we are raising the money for.
We are currently in talks with 'The Royal Navy Submarine Museum' in Gosport to film inside their Hunter-Killer submarine, HMS Alliance. Although they are being incredibly helpful and supportive they have told us that there would be a sizable cost for funding their team to supervise.
Other locations include the Portsmouth Bunker, which is located in Gosport and has been confirmed for filming.
The story is as follows: -
Set in 1988, we open on a candle-lit, leaky pub, as a grey sailor tells his story of when an old friend “disappeared” as they disembarked their submarine one night.
The events then play out in a flashback to 1958, with it revealing that his friend was taken by a human-like-sea-monster.
The characters explore the nearby fort to find out what is making noises. When problems ensue, they get cornered by their submarine, leading to the ending of the film which takes place inside the submarine as they attempt to trap the monster inside.
The visuals and shooting style will be inspired by the films “Das Boot” (1981) and the monster and atmosphere of “The Fog” (1980).
Any donations towards this project would be greatly appreciated and will get a credit in the film.
Thank you for taking the time to read this fundraiser!
