Fund an Up and Coming Artist

As we near the end of the year, I’m excited to share my intentions as a budding creative artist for 2023. My primary goal is to start creating projects with a financial budget, in hopes of continuing to turn my passion for art-making into a profession. Over the past 3 years, I’ve created a portfolio of work with dozens of artists who have collaborated voluntarily; costuming, equipment, submission fees, etc have either been put together cost-free or have been handled out of pocket. In my work I hope to continue researching ways to make movement art more integrated and accessible, and finding ways to represent not only my own voice and ideas, but also those of each person I work with. In order to do so, I hope to delve deeper into site-specific collaborations and video-making, and I also would like to start financially compensating my collaborators for their valued contributions.

I believe art is beautiful and empowering, and I’m at an exciting and pivotal point where it’s time to turn it into my career.
