Fund Bear's Urgent Medical Needs

Bear went missing on October 29th, 2023. I spent days and weeks trying to find him. My family and I stayed out countless nights with no sleep.

Bear was an indoor / outdoor cat and he loved to be out at night and be in during the day.

One night I came home and I was calling his name, he always came to say hi when he heard my voice. After many calls and no Bear, I checked his location on FindMy iPhone (he had a tracker on his collar) and it located 3 miles away at a Wawa. Bear never ever left the cul-de-sac so this was a surprise to everyone. I went to get him and he was not there, the location never updated. I’m 99% sure he was stolen off my property.

After four very long months, on March 4th, I got a call from his microchip company saying he was found. I sped all the way to Pinellas County Animal Services the next day to pick him up.

The lady who was helping me said he was found on the Courtney Campbell Causeway bridge, and if you ask me, a cat doesn’t just find their way to a bridge, especially since the Causeway is 45 minutes, driving, from my house.

Bear has always had a funny walk since he was a kitten. When I got him back he had his same funny walk so no one thought anything. Until a few weeks later he started limping. Now he arches his back when he walks, he’s constantly limping, and he doesn’t eat as much.

Bear was brought to Harmony Vet on April 23rd. After a few x-rays, they informed me that he has a fractured / broken femur. They said it looks like it was caused from

1) being kicked, 2) being thrown, or

3) being thrown out of a car. He’s going to need surgery and the cost is $1,500 (not including taxes).

The vet told me that they are going to have to take out his hip bone, take the ball out of the socket, and sew the muscle around his bone and he’s going to have to heal that way.

Please help me raise enough money to help him as he is in so much pain. He barely can jump on the bed.

This would mean so much to me and I know it would mean so much to him.
