The new 2023/2024 COVID and pandemic justice work wave is 4 years too late. Help us fund The Health Stellium!
The Health Stellium is made up of Gen Zers (born in 1996 or later) and a few younger Millennials on the late end who warned older leaders about COVID for years. We trusted them first only to find out they were mismanaging funds and/or engaging in sexual misconduct, both of which delayed our ability to start this work.
Denials of funding and the self doubt that resulted from them on top of having elders push us out from other sources also delayed us getting started. We are still tired of poor leadership from politicians to leftist organizers screwing up our health.
We refuse to celebrate late public health efforts after being ignored and derailed. We are fundraising for ourselves after trying everything else.
We started our fundraiser because:
1. Youth who advocated for covid & public health safety years ago were pushed out of leftist organizations (some into homelessness and joblessness). Some leadership responsible for this are now pivoting into public health work in our communities in 2024. We also applied for funding to do this work YEARS AGO (2022 to be exact).
2. Our friends & loved ones have already died
3. Too many community members already have long covid
4. Many gen z, gen alpha, and younger millennial youth no longer trust anyone who thrived in elder & influencer movement cultures of abuse, sexual misconduct, & mismanagement of funds to lead anymore.
Funds will go towards building safer public health systems for young people who continue to be failed by leadership.
We will use funds to:
1. Continue buying and shipping masks to community members nationwide ( $ 1000)
2. Purchase more higher quality air purifying equipment to lend for events ($ 5000)
3. Send aid to young Black LGBTQ+ community members who are sick, living with long COVID, and other ailments ($ 4200)
4. Hold virtual and in person meetings to strategize for our community safety and wellness (Zoom + Alternatives: $ 4000)
