Fund Brian's Reconstructive Surgery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Briealesa, and I am starting this GoFundMe for my father, Brian Wilson. My dad has had a long journey dealing with diabetes and has always done well with medication management and self-care. Unfortunately, his diabetes has now taken control of his feet, and in 2014, he had to undergo surgery to remove his big toe. In the end, it was a success, but in the following years, he has developed "Charcot foot syndrome," which causes damage to your foot when you’ve lost feeling in your feet and ankles. You may not notice or feel symptoms of an injury or infection that’s hurting your foot. Due to having this, the bones in his feet eventually collapsed, affecting both his nerves and mobility.

This has not destroyed my father's faith, but it has stopped him from enjoying the simple pleasures of taking a walk or just standing for long periods of time due to the excruciating pain. He is now faced with the need for reconstructive surgery.

Unfortunately, in 2020, his insurance lapsed, and this has left us paying out of pocket for all medical expenses. In 2023, what we thought was a breakthrough became a slight setback, and he is still in need of his surgery but without proper medical coverage, to no avail. With your help, we are hoping he can have the surgery he needs.
