Prostate Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
UPDATE #5…so we know it’s a little while since we updated you but we started some private treatment some months ago and wanted to see what happens, we can now tell you that although this treatment isn’t a cure it has stabilised with a slightly decreased level in the blood work too which is amazing. It doesn’t seem likely that we’re going to raise enough funds for the operation so with your help and support we are going to continue in this treatment and hopefully we will continue to remain stable. Thank you all so much for all your love and support, it really does mean a so much to all the family.

UPDATE #4…We’ve been to Christie’s Hospital and again they can’t offer any treatment but on a very positive note the cancer hasn’t yet spread anywhere else so we are very grateful for that. So we are going to continue to raise funds for treatment in London. We’ve asked my brother to take control of the funds for us to take the pressure off so you might see his name as the beneficiary just in case you’re wondering. Thank you again so so much for all your support and generosity, keep sharing the link if you can as the more that know the quicker we can hopefully get the needed treatment

UPDATE #3…So here we go, we’re back on to raise funds as soon as possible. We saw the consultant in London yesterday and he confirmed, that due the advanced nature of the cancer, Mehrdad is outside the parameters for active treatment on the nhs and will likely just be offered palliative care, however private treatment can be successful even in advanced cases because they are not restricted by parameters so can treat if they feel it’ll lead to a positive outcome, but obviously this now depends on being able to raise enough funds to have the treatment. Thank you so much for your support and your loving care, let’s get together and make this happen xx

UPDATE #2…Just received news from the hospital and we are being referred to Christie’s in Manchester and to Nanoknife in London which is fantastic news. So for now we’re still keeping a hold on further donations but we will be able to use what has been so kindly donated already for travel and accommodation to London in particular. Thank you so much to everyone again, love to everyone xx

UPDATE #1…Thank you to everyone who has helped us so far, we can’t believe everyone’s kindness, it’s overwhelming. We have an update for you…so we have found out that we can potentially be referred to a NHS hospital in London, which will be fantastic as that will mean we will no longer need to reach such a high financial goal, and the amount raised already will help us with travel and accommodation costs. So for now you don’t need to keep donating and we will update you as we find out more. Once again let us say thank you for all your help and support, we know you’re prayers are your biggest help and blessing xx

Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m fundraising to help my husband, Mehrdad, get the treatment he desperately needs to treat aggressive prostate cancer.

Mehrdad has previously had major surgery to remove all of his large bowel in 2005 followed by 2 more surgeries for bowel obstructions, then in 2007 had further major surgery to create an internal ilio-anal pouch. This finally surgery has been a complete success.

However, Mehrdad has now been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer and due to his previous surgeries and the position of the ilio-anal pouch an operation to remove the cancer just isn’t a possibility.

Also because the ilio-anal pouch is literally touching the side of the prostate this also rules out any possibility of radiotherapy. The only other treatment available on the NHS is hormone medication, but due to drug allergies to medications these also can’t be used.

This only leaves us with the option of private medical treatment involving nanotechnology that can remove the cancer without damaging the internal ilio-anal pouch.

This treatment, not being available on the NHS is completely out of our financial reach, so please, if you can help us in anyway to fund this much needed treatment, even if you can only donate a few pounds, we would appreciate it beyond what we can possibly thank you for.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, all our family, including our daughters, send you our love and thanks for anything you can do to help.
