My name is Eliana. I have been presented with hundreds of amazing opportunities through Junior ROTC. One of my most recent accomplishments is being nominated by my Senior Army Instructor, LTC Lyon, to go on a weeklong trip to Washington, D.C., to study United States intelligence and security. This trip will include some amazing sights like the Pentagon, the White House, all the Smithsonian Museums, and the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. These are things that are only accessible via invite and not open to the public. If I complete this week with a high head, strong heart, and prove myself, I'll be leaving with 6 college credits to show for it. All of that isn't even 1/10 of the amazing things I'll be seeing and doing. This trip is a grand total of $5000. With the help of the Junior ROTC program I am in, I have the privilege of being aided in the cost of this trip, but there are still costs that are not able to be covered fully without our own personal funding (things like airfare and personal interests).
This trip is something that is very important to me and it lets me experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
