Fund face masks and visors for MAV volunteers
Donation protected
My name is Jason Matlo, I am a fashion designer from Vancouver, British Columbia and a volunteer for MUTUAL AID VANCOUVER (MAV). MAV was set up by my good friend and philanthropist, Jessica Taylor in March 2020 to help aid the community during the COVID-19 outbreak in BC.
MAV is focusing it's efforts on a volunteer program that is matching drivers to deliver goods to those in isolation due to COVID-19, so that we can all do our part to support #flattenthecurve.
The funds raised here purchase supplies for myself and my team (who are working in isolation to ensure no contamination of products) to assemble face mask and visor units, to be worn by the volunteers who are grocery shopping and making deliveries to those in isolation.
Until now, these supplies have been purchased by MAV admin, and the funds raised here will go to reimburse them for their purchases, as well as purchase new supplies for assembly of one time use masks. To date we have made 71 face mask and visor units, and have purchased supplies for an additional 100 units.
Please note: we are purchasing supplies that ARE NOT deemed PPE, to ensure we are not taking away supplies from medical and health professionals who need them, and we ARE NOT distributing these to medical professionals as this is against current legislation and moral ethics.
All proceeds left over from the assembling of the masks will be donated to a Vancouver focused COVID-19 relief charity, and we will update donors on the remainder of these funds at that time.
For more information, request to join MUTUAL AID Vancouver Facebook group.
Thank you and stay safe.
