Fund for Falco's Vet Bills and K9 Support
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Courtney and I was K9 officer Falco's aunt. Officer Cochran is my brother. K9 Falco served the Fargo Police Department for almost NINE years and was instrumental on many occasions catching "bad guys" and sniffing out illegal substances.
However, I'm guessing most people aren't aware that in the state of North Dakota once a K9 dog is retired from the force all costs of general care, including veterinarian costs fall unto the officer/handler, NOT the force they worked for and protected.
In the last few days of Falco's amazing life he needed several emergency vet visits. In the end, his pain was too great and the incredibly difficult decision was to put him down. He was able to be next to his fur-ever partner in fighting crime Officer Cochran.
These visits have created a large economic burden on the Cochran family.
All funds will go to pay the veterinarian bills for Falco. If by some amazing occurrence that those fees are paid and there is a remainder, Off. Cochran had asked for money to be available to other retired K9 officer's families to provide economic support to the care of these furry-officers.
We appreciate everything these dogs have done for our community and hope we may support them back.
Thank you for your support. Falco will be truly be missed by all (except the bad guys)
