SHS Alumni for Seneca, SC: Tornado Relief Efforts
Donation protected
On April 13, 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, our hometown of Seneca, SC was hit by a tornado. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado was a strong EF3 with peak winds near 160 mph. Mayor Dan Alexander gave an update on the storm's impact on April 23, 2020 and noted:
$250 million in property damage
1,400 damaged properties
172 homes not structurally sound
78 homes destroyed
Many of our families, friends, classmates and neighbors have been greatly affected by the storm and need our help in this time of greatest need. So we're calling on all Seneca High School Alumni, family and friends to help raise money for those impacted by this tornado.
All funds from this GoFundMe will be directed to the City's "Seneca Tornado Relief Fund" on behalf of "SHS Alumni & Friends."
As Alumni, Seneca will always be home. We're here for our hometown - and we'll get through it together. Let's do it for Seneca, y'all.
