Fund Journie Lott's Inspiring DC Experience

My name is Journie Lott. I am an 8th grader at Irving Middle School in Lincoln, NE. I am one of three Deaf students here. I am the first Deaf student to attempt to attend the DC Trip with my 8th grade class. The trip will be during spring break, March 2025. I need help with the financial obligation as my family isn't able to afford the total amount. I need to raise $3,000 to pay for the trip. My interpreter, Davida, has been helping me learn things about the "real world," and she thinks this trip will help me learn and understand that I can attend college and achieve any goals I set my mind to. One benefit of attending is being able to see all the Deaf-founded businesses and Gallaudet University being there. We will also be touring many historical sites that I wasn't aware existed.
