Fund Julia (Madia Smith) Long-Awaited Family Reunion

Update: Down to the wire and we are considerably short of our goal. Friends, we need to buy a ticket this weekend, plus buy food, toiletries, etc. for 2 month stay. Plus we need to cover the shipping costs which are costly. These items must be shipped next week in order for them to get them there in time for her arrival.

Keep in mind that this is a trip to see family after 34 years, but it is not a vacation per se. The conditions are harsh in a severely depressed economic area. That is why she must ship her supplies ahead of her departure.

I am Lori Pruett. This fundraiser is for our friend Madia Julia Smith. She is originally from Liberia and is now officially a U.S citizen. Over 30 years ago, she escaped the horrors of war in Liberia.

She is now 86 years old. As a citizen, she is able to travel freely to Liberia. She has not seen her family in 30 years, and never seen most of her grandchildren.

For decades, she has worked very hard to support herself and her family in Liberia. Now we have the opportunity to give back to this generous woman by helping her with her airline ticket and travel expenses for this beautiful family reunion.
