For those who don't know, my name is Joy Diez
And this is my story:
All my life I've always been into fitness, always wanting to become more and more fit ever since elementary school. I never really showed interest in any of the sports throughout my life at school, so I just began to workout with bodyweight and weights the summer of 2015. I became truly dedicated with becoming more fit because my brother inspired me when he was training for an upcoming powerlifting competition. Later that year, I was diagnosed with Raynaud's disease on September 23rd 2015. But in October, my rheumatologist discovered that I also have lupus. My world came crashing down when I found out, I felt hopeless and not healthy enough . When March 2016 came around my brother competed in a powerlifting meet where he got a state record for the deadlift with an over triple body weight lift. I became so inspired with his abilities that I thought, "If he can do it, I can too!" My brother inspired me to always continue improving, so I began to workout again consistently in August 2016. In the duration of this time, I would have trouble coping with symptoms of Raynaud's and lupus but kept going because I wanted too. It was my only stress outlet at the time and only other sport I could participate in. I remember hearing people to tell me to stop, that I couldn't do it, that I shouldn't workout, and even people saying not to worry about fitness Cuz im "too young."
I would tell my brother this and he said not to listen to them because he believes I can achieve more. ME, he told me that he believes in me even though I had 2 diseases!
I felt so empowered and decided to give powerlifting a try.
I began to seriously train for powerlifting in early January , and I finally feel like I fit in a sport that I'm motivated for! So far I have earned 3 national records (earned in my very first competition) in the squat, and deadlift. I am currently working on obtaining the benchpress national record as well as the squat world record this coming July!

I want to show the world what I am capable of despite my medical disadvantages and inspire and empower others to reach for their goals and dare to dream
Please help me financially to reach my goals to fly out to Atlanta Georgia in October to compete in USPA "powerlifting worlds" this will allow me to compete with the best in the world and really lift my heart out! Thank you and God Bless.
