Help Megan with Recovery Expenses
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Kelley and I am raising money to help my niece, Megan Moriarity, who was recently in a bad motorcycle accident on Friday, April 26th. She is recovering but will be out of commission for quite some time. She is currently at Wilson receiving care and when she starts feeling better, without the need of pain medication, she will be transferred to a long term therapy facility.
Yesterday was probably the first day since the accident, that Megan seemed to have a clear mind and realize the total picture of what she is facing.
I couldn't say it better, so I am copying her social media post that was made this morning.
"To be involved in a serious motorcycle accident has been so traumatizing. I’ve been in the hospital since Friday. I have no use of my left leg and have to go to an inpatient therapy facility to learn how to walk on my leg again. I have a broken tib/fib, dislocated knee and fractures in the knee. Half of my calf muscle was torn away from road rash. I underwent surgery Friday when I arrived to Wilson which was just the first one. I will need another surgery. I have zero mobility of my ankle because of a damaged nerve. My right leg just has a couple stitches and scratches. My hemoglobin has gone down beyond the “safe zone” but I refuse a blood transfusion for now. The bike went down at such a speed on the highway that my helmet and boots actually flew off upon impact. I keep being told I’m lucky to be alive. After this I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to enjoy all the activities that made me feel alive. It’s a long road to recovery, but hey. I’m here. I just wanted to say thank you to each and every one of you who have wished me well and checked in on me, it’s kept me in good spirits. I appreciate you guys."
Megan will need funds to pay for extra medical expenses, living expenses, someone to take care of her dog Mister, etc.
Please keep Megan in your prayers for a speedy recovery and that she will gain the full use of her leg again.
