Fund Memorial Platform — in memory of the Ukrainians killed

To remember is to resist.

Thousands of Ukrainians have been killed by Russia’s war — in their homes, on the front lines, on their way to school or work. These are not anonymous casualties. Over 12,000 civilians, including hundreds of children, and more than 46,000 defenders have died. Each of them had a name, a face, a life. Each deserves to be remembered.

Memorial Platform is a member of the international Casualty Recorders Network run by Every Casualty Counts. It is the largest Ukrainian digital platform dedicated to honouring fallen soldiers and civilians by preserving their stories through documentary projects, digital archives, and other memorial initiatives. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the team began collecting and publishing data on those killed. Over the past three years, we have established direct communication with tens of thousands of families of the fallen and dead.

Memorial’s partners include Ukraine’s largest media outlets, civil society organisations, museums, and local authorities across all regions of Ukraine. We also collaborate with international human rights defenders to hold perpetrators of war crimes accountable. We have contributed data to reports and research by Human Rights Watch, the Clooney Foundation, Airwars, and Truth Hounds. As a member of the Casualty Recorders Network, we work closely with Every Casualty Counts to bring information about Ukrainian casualties to global attention at the highest levels of the United Nations.

The work of the Memorial Platform is currently at risk due to funding cuts. This means there is a real danger of losing crucial testimonies about the people killed by Russian military aggression. Without sufficient support, preserving these stories and honouring the memory of the victims is becoming increasingly difficult.
