Fund Michael's Journey to Arlington Cemetery

This fund is for Michael J. Echterling. I am Michael's daughter, Brenna, and on behalf of my mother, Bonnie and brother Chris, I am raising funds for Michael's impending funeral costs. Michael's visitation will be at Burdan Funeral Home in Cedar Lake, Indiana and he will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. While his burial at Arlington is at no cost to us, we still will incur the cost of a visitation, and the transport to a local funeral home near Arlington.

I am trying my best to honor my father's wishes to be buried at Arlington, an honor he earned, through his service to the United States Army during Viet Nam.

My father is dying of metastatic prostate cancer. It has spread all over his body and is in his bones. He is no longer able to speak or communicate with us and I fear he is on borrowed time. He is on hospice, here at home, with my mother and I.
