Fund Mikaela's Full-Size Violin

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mikaela Kovach. When I was three years old, I saw an older girl playing violin at my school and told my parents, "I want to do that."

I started lessons at age three with a cardboard cereal box violin and a love for music. I've dedicated myself to my violin music for the past seven years, and completed Book 8 of Suzuki this past year. My goal is to become a professional musician.

This year, as I turn eleven years old, I've graduated to my first, very own full-size violin. For the past seven years, I've been using rental violins, which I replaced as I grew. It came time for me to select a violin that I will own and will play for the next several years. My instructor and Vermont Violins helped me select the right violin for my level of skill over the course of several months. It is made by violin luthier Carrie Scoggins.

I played this violin in my first solo concert to share my music with you and mark the next chapter of my musical journey. In this concert, I played a song from each of the eight books in Suzuki, as well as some additional favorites. The concert was attended by my family and friends who have supported me, and today I'd like to share it with you. (My favorite song, Czárdás by Monti, starts at 35 minutes.)

I will be busking (playing violin in public) to support the cost of my new violin. If you would like to help support me, I would be grateful for any amount you share.
