Fund Monashee Community Co-op's New Building

Monashee Community Co-op is a community-service, member-owned grocery store based in Lumby, BC. Covid has triggered a huge outpouring of support for local products from our consigners and wholesalers, resulting in our wee store now bursting at the seams. We had a wonderful opportunity to buy our own building but we couldn't swing it financially. In response, a group of committed co-op members has created a corporation intent on buying a building and leasing it back to us!  The building is in a much better location, with double the space. It will serve our growing needs perfectly for years to come: supporting more local producers and farmers better; offering more choice of products to our customers; being the one-stop shop for all who want to support local; for those who don't want to travel to the city; for tourists who are looking for healthy, organic, local fare. Perhaps we will have workshop space, supplement area, a deli, a greenhouse  - the possibilities are breath-taking!
Any funds that you contribute will go towards our moving expenses, new equipment and renovations for the new building. We need $100,000 and have a multi-faceted plan to raise these funds. If we can't reach our goals this go-round, the funds will be ear-marked as our Building Fund nest-egg.
