Fund My Horror Game From My Trauma In A Children's Care Home

My Story:

I was taken into care when I was 11. On my first night I was trapped inside my room due to a child being violent. I spent 2 hours not knowing where the loud screams and bangs were coming from. The girl was 14 and when I came out to see what was happening as I was unaware that this stuff could happen, she tried to hurt me. Luckily the staff stopped her, but this was so traumatic, and that sort of stuff happened daily!

Another issue that scarred me happened when my family were going on holiday (booked before I was taken into care) and my social workers refused to let me go with them. This was so heart-breaking.

For context my mum was accused of FII Fabricated Induced Illness basically saying my Autism, Epilepsy etc, was made up by her this has been disproven so many times. (this was not the only thing she was wrongly accused of) After the court case ended, we were told I could come home after my mum did "work" on her behaviour two years later I was placed in her care despite doing none of this "work" this was due to my care home not wanting me and the Social Worker’s had nowhere else to put me. It hurt so much that I was in care for 4 years and there seemed to be no real reason why.

This is just a tiny taste of what I have been through, as you can gather this game comes straight from my trauma. I want people to learn more about how bad this system is. Your donations will help fuel my trauma into something good and spread the word about how evil this system is. The storyline I have made is a mix of the pain I have been through (so it is not all arcuate and is over dramatized) but you can get the gist.

The Game and Its Story:

Willow Wood children’s care home had to close their doors, after what the news called “The Silverstone Incident” where a young boy Ben Silverstone was found floating in a river 15 miles from the care home.

Emily is a young lady who grew up in the care home. She was mistreated like so many who came through the place, but she was special if that’s what you can call it, Mr Blackwood the team leader who went missing before the home closed its doors, took a shine to making her time in the home worse… way worse, it led her to fear stuff like basements or loud noises.

Sadly, despite having left the now abandoned care home, Emily still suffers from nightmares and hallucinations of a dead child in the form of a horrific monster. She decides that to fix her pain, she must go back to the care home where it all started, after all they never found Mr Blackwood where is he, and is it possible as Emily often suspected that he killed Ben Silverstone? Emily thought she knew the answers to these questions but dreaded finding out the truth, but she knew she had to…

You the player are tasked with searching the abandoned care home and escaping it while being stalked by a monster built from Emily’s trauma, the game will take you all around the house until she can finally face her fear in the basement, to escape you will need to find and switch on five fuses around the house to allow the gate to open and set you free but it won’t be easy. Emily will have to give everything she knows up to escape, and maybe just maybe let go her guilt and trauma. Will you find out all the secrets or will you succumb to the hell of insanity or worse.

Creation Timeline:

Once I have the funds needed to make the game this is my timeline for its development:

I will have a working Beta within the first 2 months.

The first Demo will be available withing the first year.

The Trailer for the full realise will be around the time of the demo (the stream page and ads will start running at this point)

14 months in, voice acting, and artwork should be completed.

The full Realise will be available within 2 years.

This is subject to change of course as problems arise.

What I Need:

To make this game happen I require artwork and 3D models to be made (as am unable to make them myself) I will need voice actors to help make the game come to life. I also aim for this game to be realised on the website STEAM, I need a soundtrack to be made, plus any other expenses I may come across.

What I Predict the Money Will Go To:

Out of the £1500 I am asking for.

£550 will go to Artwork/3D models

£100 will go to getting the game on steam

£450 will go to voice actors for Mr Blackwood and Emily

£100 will go to the full soundtrack

£200 will go to advertising

The reaming £100 will go towards any unplanned issues for example coding help, beta testing etc.
