Fund Nancy’s vet bills - Doberman Ex Breeder
Donation protected
This GoFundMe was originally set up for a very special dog called Rocky who we rescued in August of 2023. His story is below but cut it short, he defied all odds. After being shot in the head and pushed from a bridge, he has now made an incredible recovery thanks to support we found through wonderful people on GoFundMe. When Rocky came into our care, we were over £4,000 in debt to the vet. They were gracious enough to treat him as it was such an emergency but we knew that if we didn’t pay this off, the next dog like Rocky would be able to be treated. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have helped a lot more animals since then. Now we find ourselves in the same situation again. A dog who has been abused and neglected, a female Doberman who was used for breeding to within an inch of her life, is at the vet needing specialist treatment which the vet cannot give unless we pay off our debt.
We found her while walking the street, she was being kicked and hit repeatedly by a group of people. We ran over immediately to stop this horrific scene and took her with no hesitation. Because she was so emaciated she could no longer produce puppies, so she was no longer of use to these people.
Horrific but so common. Beautiful, sweet and forgiving Nancy is at the vet now, waiting on us to be able to treat her. If you could spare a little to help this poor girl it would be incredible. Our debt is £4,000. This has amassed over the past 5 months, made up of emergency operations, medicines etc. If you could spare tomorrows coffee, and instead donate £4 to our case, we, and Nancy will be incredibly grateful.
Thank you for reading, Rocky’s original story is attached below.
We are Kiki's Hope for Animals rescue. This dog has been pushed off a bridge, left to die. The humans who did it, somehow put holes in his head with intentions to kill him, before throwing him off the ledge to die. They failed to end his life. Our rescue found him lying at the bottom of a ditch, clinging to life. We took him to the vet who told us there may be hope for him. He had broken legs, and was unable to eat or drink.
He is being given the essential nutrients via syringe. Today he drank water without assistance for the first time, but has tested positive for parvo. This decreases his chances of survival a lot, we recognise that. As you read this he is lying in critical condition at the vet. But he is not a lost cause.
It is true that it is likely that he won’t make it, but it is also true that we have seen miracles happen before, to dogs in worse condition than his.
But these ‘miracles’ don’t happen without constant and reliable veterinary care. And we are in debt £4,500 to the vets. Thankfully they took on this boy's case as it was so urgent, but they may refuse next time. They will not prioritise Rocky’s care and treatment and won’t even consider treating our other dogs for less urgent matters until we have cleared our debts. Rocky is being given the bare minimum care when he needs much more to recover well enough to live happily. We need our vets to help these animals, but we understand how gracious they have been in trusting us to owe them.
The truth is, we don’t have that money. We have to fight and beg every week to raise funds for even the most basic necessities like food and rent for the pension. We cannot continue like this for much longer.
The occasional happy endings fuel our fire to fight for these dogs, we have to show the dogs who have yet to experience human kindness, that we are here for them, and we will fight for them.
We will keep you updated about this particular case, but even if he does not pull through, we cannot help the next dog we see lying there, we will have to walk past as they lay there in agony. Unless we clear our vet bills.
Horrific animal abuse like this is all too common in Serbia. So seeing cases where dogs are mutilated and injured like this boy is heartbreakingly frequent.
We are a very small rescue team based in the Balkans and the UK. And we are in the worst financial position we have ever been in.
That’s why we are asking you to donate as little or as much as you can to help us clear this debt to the vets.
We thank you endlessly for every penny you donate. And we urge you to view our website and social platforms to see our work.
