Fund raiser for Father John Zabinko

As many of you already know, Father John Z. had a stroke almost 2 years ago.  He is still wheelchair bound.

 

Father John put in many years of dedicated service to Alaska parishioners, with Anchorage being his last parish before he had to retire due to the stroke.
Mathuska Maggie is his primary caregiver.  Transportation is a challenge due to the difficulty getting him in & out of their current vehicle.  Mathuska has to lift him into their car, which severely limits their trips out. 
As a result, he has not been able to get out and go to church much.
Asking for donations to help cover the cost of a “new” used handicap vehicle that has a ramp.  If enough funds can be raised, they will be selling their car to help offset the cost of the handicap vehicle.  A new Handicap vehicle is over $50,000 and a used is half that.
Reflect on God’s love for us and what he gave in sacrifice to us.  Father John is a faithful servant that provided for the spiritual needs of our parishes for decades here in Alaska. 
Consider how wonderful it would be in this Christmas season to dedicate your Christmas gift budget that you would normally spend on your spouse and give back to a priest that gave so much of himself to all of us.  Of course, if you want to give more than your normal budget, that’s okay too!
It would be so wonderful if we could pull together and make this happen in time for him to be able to attend Christmas services this year!
