Fund raising to restore the Kissena Velodrome
Donation protected
Trackfam is thrilled to celebrate the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Kissena Velodrome by leading the charge to restore and resurface New York state's only bicycle racing track.
Sponsor a meter or a turn; we're virtually splitting the track into 400 meters and asking you to contribute and share a piece of our history.
Funding details are below.
Velodrome organizers Jason Gallacher and Christine D'Ercole, along with Star Track youth program co-directors David Harrison and Pete Taylor, are partnering with the NYC Parks Department to adopt the park and fund the repairs and carry the legacy of the track of dreams.
Beginning July 18th, flagged areas and cracks will be cut out and repaired, and then two layers of seal coat will be applied, giving the track a brand new surface. The final touches will be a clean re-stripe.
We're also upgrading our infrastructure with advanced scoring systems, a digital lap counter and new sound equipment.
The flagged areas and opportunity for lighting were unexpected and above our budget.
We're seeking your help; contributions of any amount, large or small will bring us closer to our goal!
Sponsor a Meter.
$250 x 400 = $100,000.00
It takes a village; 400 passionate cycling patrons will complete our goal; it's the foundation of our fundraising campaign.
Personal and Corporate sponsors, please consider larger donations!
Support our beloved track cycling community, say yes to youth programming, say yes to track racing and own a piece of history at the Kissena Velodrome.
