Disability is a political identity that is often misrepresented as an individual tragedy instead of a force for social change. Many of us grow up disabled without finding a political home until we are adults, if we are lucky enough to come across disability culture. We want to change that. As disabled adults who have been politicized both within and outside of disability culture, we want to actively support the next generation. We welcome disabled youth into politicized disability culture and the disability justice movement, supporting their growth and building their power as activists and agents of change.
The Disability Justice Youth Center is an emerging youth organization and we need your support! Be part of the network that builds this center.
We are fundraising for start up costs, including website design, graphic design, consultation with lawyers and access services.
Donations will be sent to Project LETS, our fiscal sponsor.
More information about Project LETS: We build peer-led communities of support, education & advocacy for folks with lived experience of mental illness, trauma, Disability, and/or neurodivergence. We believe that principles of Disability Justice are key components to supporting collective healing and our human rights.
