Fund the Fight - Jake’s battle with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma 

Hi everyone! 

My name is Mikayla, I am a close family friend of the Lamberty Family. The Lamberty family and I have started this Go Fund Me to help Jake and his family fund Jake’s fight with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, relieve some of the stress that this disease brings, and most importantly, get Jake back on the ice with his Lumberjack family.

Jake is 22 years old and is a Native of Glendale, Arizona.  He laced up his first pair of skates at just barely 4 years old and he’s been playing hockey ever since. He has always had a great passion for the sport and is known to be a Coach and Fan favorite among the masses. Typically, one of the smallest players on any given team, Jake always knew he would have to work extra hard to have any success. Ultimately his efforts led him to being recruited by Northland College in Wisconsin, where he had been doing exceptionally well in both his classes and on the ice.

As of recent, Jake was experiencing some random chest pain while at school. Jake didn’t think much of it. About 2 weeks went by and eventually he went to get checked out. It was then the doctors discovered that he had a very large mass in his chest located in the cavity right next to his heart. After multiple scans and a biopsy it was confirmed he had Non Hodgkin’s Large B Cell Lymphoma. Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a very aggressive cancer that requires very aggressive treatment to destroy it. Jake has completed all of the preliminary tests and procedures necessary for the Medical Team to properly game plan his treatment. If all goes as planned, Jake will be starting his Chemotherapy as early as the first of the year. 

This is going to be a very rigorous schedule for Jake and the entire family. Anyone that knows Jake also knows he has never backed down to anyone or anything in his life. Former Coaches have called him a Warrior, and that is the mindset he will take as he prepares to beat this.

Jake has an amazing attitude, and positive outlook on any challenge he faces. Jake is getting mentally prepared for his greatest challenge to date. He’s giving everything he has to come out on top, get back to working on his Degree and competing again at Northland with his Lumberjack Brothers. 

Please know that the outpouring of love and support that friends, family and community members have shown throughout the last few weeks has been both overwhelming and humbling for Jake and his entire family. It has also served as an inspiration to Jake knowing he has so many people out there that are pulling for him. He has no intentions of letting anyone down. In his comical way of always trying to make others feel good, his mantra right now is…..”Just give me the Good Stuff, and let's get after it!!”

Lenny and Maria, Jake’s parents, could use all the love and support as they are going through this hard time while they focus on getting Jake better.

On behalf of Jake Lamberty and his Family, I would like to ask for any support others may be able to provide in the form of prayers, positive energy, or donations, to help alleviate some of the stress and anxiety that will come in the many months ahead.
