Fund the Kari Lindeman Memorial Scholarship

Donation protected

Kari Ann Lindeman was a shining light in this world, always greeting others with her big smile and even bigger personality. Kari was tragically taken from this world on July 29, 2022 by an intoxicated, wrong way driver.

In her honor, her family is developing the Kari Lindeman Memorial Scholarship through Blue Mountain Community College. This scholarship will be intended for nursing program students.

Kari graduated from Blue Mountain Community College in 1996 with her degree in nursing. This started her lifelong career in nursing primarily serving the intensive care unit. Kari’s patients described her as caring for them like they were her only patient. Kari went above and beyond in her care for her patients, including doing things like having her husband buy hair care products so she could wash and style an elderly woman’s hair who had been admitted to her care and looked uncared for. Kari wanted her patients to have that extra love, care and dignity. Her compassion for them was second to none.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kari worked tirelessly between multiple hospitals. When her family encouraged her to take a step back for her own well being, she simply said she couldn’t because she had the skill and had to use it to help others. Kari made sure that these patients, who were scared and dying without their families, were not alone. She gave them access to her phone to call and FaceTime loved ones. She held their hands and whispered words of comfort as they passed.

Kari took traveling nursing jobs in order to expand on her skills and put the ones she had to the test. She was always looking for ways to grow both professionally and personally.

It’s the family’s hope that with the Kari Lindeman Memorial Scholarship, her legacy will be carried on by nurses having the same characteristics and passion that Kari had for the work, that her light will now be passed on to the other nurses shining bright through their care, compassion, and hard work.

In order to establish the scholarship, we have to raise $25,000. We are exploring multiple avenues to fund this. If you wish to donate any money raised will go towards the scholarship. We will keep everyone updated of other fundraising opportunities we develop for this cause in the near future.

If you wish to donate locally, there is an account through Banner Bank called the Kari A Lindeman donation account.

We appreciate all of you keeping Kari’s memory alive.
