Help us make the Southern Illinois Women's March and Day of Celebration a success!
The Southern Illinois Women's March is on January 21, 2017 in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington and over 300 sister marches.
We expect 600 people at our local march which begins at 1pm. Try to arrive by 12:30.
We need and deeply appreciate your help to cover expenses surrounding the march and day long event.
Our budget is simple and clear:
Civic Center and sound system rental $700
Poster supplies $150
Beverage service $400
Fruit and granola bars $500
1 day event insurance $275
Post march snacks / drinks $400
Schedule: Doors open at 9am. Sign painting, tabling at 10. Community building program at 10:30. Celebration after the march with music anbd sharing.
Using the Civic Center as home base, we will march south on Illinois Ave. on the sidewalks to Mill Street, then north on University to 13E, 13E to Illinois and back to the Carbondale Civic Center.
If by chance funds remain after the event, they will be donated in a 50/50 split between The Women's Center and the Boys and Girls Club, two organizations in Carbondale, IL whose work honors the spirit of the march.
