Fund the Tiny Hearts Gala
Donation protected
I’m Lia, and I’m Toms big sister. As many will be aware, Tom has been through a lot in his short life. 3 open heart surgeries & stroke before he turned 1 meant he’s spent a lot of time in hospital. Now, we want to give back to the hospital and the other charities that supported us during our months of difficult times living at the hospital with Tom in intensive care.
Any funds raised here will go towards the running of the Tiny Hearts Gala, an evening of entertainment and dinner to raise vital funds for 3 life changing charities. Your money will go directly to the cause, helping make it the best gala & raise the most money possible. After the event, we’ll be taking any money & splitting it equally between the 3 charities.
If you can’t attend, but would like to donate the cost of a ticket to someone who would benefit, then just put this in your donation note and we’ll pass a ticket on to someone who needs it!
About the charities:
The Evelina London Children’s Charity is the hospital that saved Toms life. They help to make the wards feel more like home for patients & families, fund groundbreaking research & treatment ideas and provide support for the families under their care. Without this hospital, Tom wouldn’t be here today. They truly are incredible.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provide “home away from home” accommodation completely free of charge to families needing to stay near to their children in hospital. We spent 110 days at the Evelina Ronald McDonald House, where we had a room for 4 of us to stay, a kitchen, takeaway food & sometimes even freshly cooked meals right in central London for free. You can meet other families & talk to staff all day, every day too, whenever you need. We would have had to commute over 4 hours a day to see Tom, or pay thousands in hotel fees to be this close. Without them, we don’t know how we would have survived those months.
The Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation is a small charity that creates a community for children, their parents & the whole family affected by congenital heart defects. They provide mothers & Father’s Day gifts for families in hospital, arrange days out to meet other families & do activities all free of charge & most importantly provide a whole host of support, both in person and online, to families. From the moment of diagnosis, ECHO is there. It’s like an extended family.
